11/1/2018 0 Comments Turn Clown For What?Quotes of the Day: “Do you want something or everything?” - Isla on bagels “I know a fair amount about various maladies of the breast” - Ben We got up early today to pay a visit to the county courthouse. Our contact there, Norbert, is very personable, and we really liked hearing about his education work within the probation department. NJ is reforming to shift probation away from being purely punitive and towards being more of a source of support and resources for reform. We also got gavel-shaped pencils! Wooot. During one of our pre-trip discussions, we were told that up until the last few years it was one of only four state capitals without a Starbucks. We had a stroll around Trenton’s government district and encountered the Starbucks. We then headed to the squad factory and worked on wrapping up our projects with Zoe. For instance, the redesigned office space looks A+. While Claire and Isla went on an adventure, we got a receipt re-printed by the supermarket with help from Julie’s superhuman ability to memorize shopping register numbers. We made a lot of progress not only on our projects, but on our circus tricks! With practice, we improved at juggling, unicycling, and various aerials. Ben became an absolute G at juggling. We even learned to drop it like it’s hot from the aerial silks. Except Ben, who literally dropped from the aerials. (no Bens were seriously harmed in the making of this blog post). We also made lots of progress in our friendships <3 (except for Ben, who refuses to share his bagels). Because today was our last day, we had some long hugs and sentimental goodbyes with the Squad members. With love, Jimmy Biscuits

Trip LeadersIsla Weber '21 grew up in Indiana amongst a family of artists, musicians, and performers. She has been doing aerials for 8 years and teaching for 3 and is excited to share circus arts and the many benefits it brings with the Princeton community and beyond. In the case that she doesn’t run away with the circus in the next few years, she plans to major in Neuroscience on the Premed track (maybe Cirque Du Soleil is looking for a new onsite doctor?).
